LEADERSHIP

2025 Podcast Guests Share Their 2026 Resolutions

Still working on your New Year’s resolution(s) for 2026? Looking for some inspiration? I asked the 2025 Media People Podcast guests what they’re focused on for the new year. Below are their responses.

“In the coming year, I’m committing to investing more time in my health and wellbeing and continuing to live in the moment. I also plan to foster more in-person meetings and collaboration to strengthen relationships in our industry. Maintaining that human connection is what makes this business so great—and I want to keep that at the heart of everything I do. Here’s to a healthy, connected, and impactful 2026!”

“Mine is to walk the dog more - not just for her sake, but for my own sake too! To move, to pause, to breathe.”

“My goal for 2026 is to prioritize creative ideas and projects that often get sidelined due to other commitments.”

“I don't really do New year's resolutions. However, for 2026 I am choosing a theme - 'accelerate'. We laid the groundwork in 2025, and in 2026 we're going to move fast.”

“Usually New Year’s resolutions bring me stress as it feels too much like a roadmap to failure and disappointment, but I am embracing 2026 differently. My keywords for 2026 are: balance, appreciation, and movement.”

Balance: Cultivate synergy between my personal and professional worlds. Appreciation: Remain present to witness and honour life’s blessings.
Movement: Advance toward my physical health and professional growth.

“Continuing to accelerate growth across all channels. Video changed how episodes are presented, and brought about numerous opportunities to work with people outside of Canada.”

PERFORMANCE

Making Your New Year’s Resolutions Stick

December is typically when people start working on their New Year’s resolutions.

But what about your goals from the preceding year? Did you meet, exceed, or miss them? Setting up a resolution is one thing, but following through can be a whole other challenge. The Harvard Medical School mapped out seven steps to make your resolutions stick. They advise:

  1. Dreaming big

  2. Breaking your dreams into small enough steps

  3. Understanding why you shouldn’t make a change

  4. Commit yourself

  5. Giving yourself a medal (metaphorically speaking)

  6. Learning from the past

  7. Giving thanks for what you do
