New Year’s Resolutions from Media People
Still working on your New Year’s resolution(s) for 2025? Looking for some inspiration? I asked the 2024 Media People Podcast guests what they’re focused on for the new year. Below are their responses:
“I resolve to pursue adventure.”
“I have a giant list of resolutions (but I call them goals) for 2025, but the most important one is to grow my business.”
“I don't do NY's resolutions. However, for the past number of years I choose a word for the upcoming year. I have not chosen my word for 2025 yet but following a particularly challenging year in 2023, my 2024 word was EASE. I am happy to report I had plenty of it and am now ready for something different.”
“2025 will be a year of growth, change, and well-being. I’ll prioritize my health, set clear boundaries, and stay curious, embracing new experiences and opportunities.”
“My resolution is to focus on using my experience and skills to take on challenges that push me to grow and contribute meaningfully, in both work and life.”
“To build on 2024’s growth that saw an increased number of podcast episodes produced, episode engagements, more international guests, and the introduction of the newsletter. A greater focus on YouTube content is part of the plan.”
Making your New Year’s Resolutions Stick
December is typically when people start working on their New Year’s resolutions.
But what about your goals from the preceding year? Did you meet, exceed, or miss them? Setting up a resolution is one thing, but following through can be a whole other challenge. The Harvard Medical School mapped out seven steps to make your resolutions stick. They advise:
Dreaming big
Breaking your dreams into small enough steps
Understanding why you shouldn’t make a change
Commit yourself
Giving yourself a medal (metaphorically speaking)
Learning from the past
Giving thanks for what you do
